Time sure flies! Here it is June already!!! May came and went.  We started May with May Day treats delivered to everyone in their rooms. A treat appreciated by all. We celebrated several special days this month. We had chips, salsa and margaritas for Cinco De Mayo and Muffins for Mom on her special day-Mother’s Day. We planted our own flower bed of flowers and several pots. We also have tomato plants growing as well. They are loving the sunshine and timely rains. We had a picnic meal for Memorial Day. We hope to grill out in the near future. We celebrated three birthdays – James B., Connie H. and Stephanie K-our director. Thanks for the cake and cookies. Also, one anniversary-Richard and Beulah F. celebrated forty years together! Congratulations to all.

On to June, we are hoping to get outside more and enjoy “Fun in the Sun” as summer is to begin on June 20TH. I have outdoor games planned, root beer floats, lemonade and ice cream treats. We will be focusing on June with dairy topics as it is “Dairy Month”. And hopefully, we can have an evening of outdoor music, which we are all missing.

We will be celebrating Flag Day with red/white/blue treats and on Father’s Day, we will be enjoying ice cream sundaes in honor of all the great dads out there!!!!

We have been utilizing our dining room again to do crafts and play Bingo and other games. Our tenants are happy as they are able to see their friends again. Socially distancing, of course!

We have a GIANT word search on our dining room wall. It was donated by one of the tenant’s family. They are able to work on it at their leisure. I see they have gotten a few words already! Thank you to Evelyn’s family for several wall games. We will be adding more.

Our main goal is to keep our tenants busy and happy during this trying time. If anyone has any suggestions or donations, don’t be afraid to contact me. I am open to any or all suggestions!!!

Have a Great Beginning of Summer!! Get out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine!!!!!! Stay cool and stay hydrated!
