From the Administrator
Hello everyone!
Hope everyone had a great summer as fall is fast approaching. We were very busy at Evans Memorial Home & Cresco Assisted Living this summer between the great Howard County Fair and the annual Block Party. I know a lot of you have asked how many cookies we bake during the fair, well my best guess estimate is around 4,500. We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our Block party with temperatures in the mid 70’s. Everyone enjoyed the great food, fellowship and entertainment. A huge Thank-you to CUSB, Gary Gassett and Gary Kelm whom volunteered their time and cooked the burgers and hotdogs, which Jon truly appreciated.
On another note, with mixed emotions I have resigned from my position as the Administrator at Evans Memorial Home. This was a very difficult decision as I have loved being a part of the Evans team and working with all of you. As many of you know, I own an acreage near La Porte City and am away from family during the week. My family has been very supportive the last four years allowing me to be away from them to do what I love; taking care of you and your loved ones. I have truly loved every minute of it! I have accepted the Administrator position with a new facility in Marion, which will allow me to be home and closer to family. I feel fortunate that the new facility is also managed by Healthcare of Iowa, so I will only be a phone call away. I won’t be starting my new position until sometime between October 1st and the 15th, which will allow time for my replacement to be hired. I’m very proud of the Kind, Compassionate, Care provided by the employees here at Evans and feel confident it will continue well into the future.
If you have questions, concerns or just want to stop by and visit, please feel free to do so. I hope to get a chance to see all of you before I go and if not, please take care!
Diana
